Introduction
Alpenglühen Lounge GmbH, Rennweg 26, 8001 Zürich (“we”, “us”), is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy. We take the protection of your privacy seriously and process your data in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, in force since 1 September 2023) and its Ordinance (DPO). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to you, for example because you live in the European Union, we also comply with it.
This policy explains which personal data we collect when you visit the lounge, register as a member, take part in events or use this website, why we do so, and which rights you have.
Data we collect
Data you give us
When you register as a member, reserve a table, sign up for the league or contact us, we process the data you provide: your name, email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or older), your preferences for games and events, and the content of your messages.
Data collected automatically
When you visit this website, our hosting provider in Switzerland automatically records technical data such as your IP address, the date and time of access, the pages viewed, the browser and operating system you use and the website you came from. With your consent we also use cookies to understand how the website is used (see below).
Data from your visit
At the lounge we record your membership number when you check in for league and members’ evenings. The entrance area is covered by video surveillance for the safety of guests and staff; recordings are deleted after 72 hours unless needed to investigate an incident.
Why we use your data
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- to run the lounge, our events and the members’ programme;
- to manage your membership and your table reservations;
- to send you news about events and the programme, if you have agreed to receive it;
- to answer your questions and requests;
- to improve our website and services based on anonymised usage statistics;
- to meet our legal obligations, including the youth protection rules for 18+ venues;
- to protect the safety of our guests and staff and to prevent misuse.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are the performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests and our legal obligations.
Sharing your data
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only in these cases:
- with carefully chosen service providers who work for us under a data processing agreement, such as our Swiss hosting provider, our email service and our booking system;
- with authorities, where Swiss law requires us to or a court orders it;
- where it is necessary to protect our rights, our property or the safety of guests and staff;
- to a buyer or successor in the event of a merger or sale of the business, after informing you;
- in any other case only with your express consent.
Cross-border transfers
We store your data primarily in Switzerland. Some service providers may process data in the European Economic Area, which the Swiss Federal Council recognises as offering adequate protection. If data is ever transferred to a country without adequate protection, we use the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or another safeguard permitted by the revFADP.
Security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include encrypted connections (TLS), restricted access rights for our staff, regular backups in Switzerland and periodic reviews of our procedures.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We nevertheless do everything reasonable to keep your data safe.
Your rights
Under the revFADP, and where applicable the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Access: you may ask whether we process your data and receive a copy of it.
- Correction: you may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: you may ask us to delete your data, unless we must keep it by law.
- Objection: you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests and withdraw consent you have given, with effect for the future.
- Data portability: you may receive data you gave us in a common electronic format.
- Complaint: you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern, at edoeb.admin.ch, or, in the EU, your local supervisory authority.
To use any of these rights, contact us at the address below. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to prove your identity.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookies for this website in your browser, after which the cookie bar will appear again. You can also set your browser to refuse cookies altogether, although some features may then not work as intended.
Age limit
Our lounge and services are intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have done so, we delete the data without delay. If you believe that we hold data about a minor, please let us know.

Messages sent through the contact form are deleted after twelve months. Accounting records are kept for ten years as required by the Swiss Code of Obligations.
